Why provide sponsorship for qualifications?
The investment in employees through learning, training and development is recognised by Southwark as a major contributor in the drive towards building a high quality, efficient and effective organisation. Sponsorship for qualifications is a key element in enabling the council to develop our employees to their full potential.
- To support the council's workforce development plan, in the provision of a structured long-term approach to learning, retention and development of skills;
- To provide an opportunity for all employees to develop their academic skills and obtain professional recognition;
- To promote career progression opportunities;
- To assist in the organisation's equality initiatives, by providing positive development opportunities in areas of under representation.
