Who is it for?

This course is for those who work predominantly with children, young people and/or parents/ carers and contribute to assessments such as CAFs with the child or family. Prerequisite training for the Crossing Bridges: a think family approach training for children's social workers. This course can also be supplemented with the e-learning module on parental metal health.

What does it cover?

This course covers..

  • The impact of mental health as a parenting issue that can identify a child in need or a child in need of services.
  • The nature of the impact on children and young people. 

 

What are the course outcomes?

Participants will be able to...

  • Be able to contribute to the Think Family agenda.
  • Analyse the impact of parental mental ill-health and articulate this through assessments which need to be understood across services.
  • Refer appropriately.
