The session is designed to provide practical hints and tips for managers as well as for colleagues to gain confidence in dealing with mental health issues.

What does it cover?

This course aims to normalise mild to moderate mental health issues, address the associated stigma and provide both employees and managers with strategies on how to deal with mental health issues affecting either themselves or colleagues. Enables employees and line managers to proactively address and support mild to moderate mental health issues in the workforce, such as anxiety or depression, resulting in reduced costs of sick absence and Improves the mental wellbeing of employees.

  • Understanding anxiety and depression
  • How a colleague can support another colleague who is experiencing significant personal/domestic issues
  • How a colleague and a manager can support a colleague who is experiencing stress at work

Managing Mild to Moderate Health Issues

It was extremely useful in identifying the symptoms of anxiety, stress etc that my work colleagues could be experiencing but I might of missed. Working in a very pressured environment you are always busy with your day so may not notice when speaking to someone. I feel that this course would be better suited to a day to allow more time to speak about experiences and generally learn a bit more and this is a very complex subject to fit in an afternoon. We as a group had a lot to share but had to cut it short due to time restrictions.

Interesting course, worth attending for staff and managers

An interesting introduction into the complex area of mental wellbeing and the workplace. Too short to cover a lot of detail, but a good starting point.

Managing mild to moderate mental health issues

Found the course realy informative and I think it should be compulsory to all line managers. I found it useful in identifying signs of stress, anxiety and even depression in myself and in my colleagues. I am sure this course could easily be a day course.
