Building Positive Relationships

I really enjoyed the course especially as the trainer gave us some very detailed course leaflets and we were able to do an analysis of our management styles and speak freely on issues.

Building Positive Relationships at Work using Assertiveness

I gained awareness of behaviours relating to being non-assertive (passive), directly and non directly aggressive, and assertive. Being Assertive at work is a skill which can be learned, where as being passive or aggressive, are more 'unthinking' reactions to a situation. It was also helpful to find out about different types of management and work styles, Expressive, Supportive, Systematic, and Directive, and how these styles relate to each other. I found the group exercises helpful, in looking at various types of body language, and behaviours, and I enjoyed role playing to help understand the importance of assertive behaviour.
